A bit about me.
I’m the Manager of the
Forest Hill Village BIA (Business Improvement Area), the Managing Director of
Greening Homes Ltd., an events & portrait
photographer, and an
urban cycling consultant.
My book
The Urban Cycling Survival Guide is available online, I sit on the boards of
The Laneway Project and the
Kensington Market Action Committee – I’m also the caretaker (aka the CARdener) of Toronto’s smallest park, the
Kensington Market Garden Car.
I’ve previously served as the Director of Communications & Events, and Founding Executive Director of the
Toronto Cyclists Union (now Cycle Toronto), as an advisor for the
Metcalf Foundation Cycle City grant program, and have regularly contributed to
Momentum,
Dandyhorse and
Precedent magazines. As the co-creator and Coordinator of
Pedestrian Sundays in Kensington Market, a former Community Advisory Board Member / Photographer for
Jane’s Walk, the original “Community Animator” at the
Centre for Social Innovation, and as the first Coordinator of the newly formed
Kensington Market BIA, I’ve been an important contributor to some of the most exciting community-based sustainable urban transportation / transformation projects to emerge in downtown Toronto since my return in 2003, and received a
Toronto Foundation Vital People grant in 2009.
As a published & working event and portrait photographer, I’m often found with a camera in my hand, and am equally comfortable conversing in French or English. I’m a year-round city cyclist and love my home town Toronto!
Hey Yvonne!
Found you on YouTube. I love your passion and life work! You rock! I just took a new job that puts me 3 miles from work. You have inspired me to start riding to work.
Thanks for your inspiration!
